2 Quick Lay Outs
Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010
Here’s another 15 minutes or less layout that you can make with current or past due photo’s! I wanted to make a simple fun page showing a day at Disney California Adventure park with the family. The nice thing about Disneyland is their main colors are generic. Just simple primary colors with no fuss when it comes to scrapbook layouts. (more…)
Little Pumpkin
Friday, November 19th, 2010
Every now and then it’s fun to throw together a layout in a jiffy. This one was created in 15 minutes or less!
Materials used: 1 sheet of 12×12 orange patterned paper, white card stock, scalloped corner punch, a strip of decorative overlay, a handful of orange buttons, 2 green brads, white and green tempura paint, assorted letter rubons, adhesive, scissors, paper piercer.
I began by using the corner punch on each of my photo’s. Then I adhered them to white card stock and trimmed around to make a border. Once again I use the corner punch to continue the scalloped look.
I adhered the photo’s in place and then added the overlay strip. Instead of using glue, I used my paper piercer to poke through the overlay and background paper so I could attach it to the paper with the green brads.
For the title, I accidentally messed up on the placement of my “L”, so I used some white tempura paint to cover it up and found a different rubon color to use in it’s place. To even out the title, I used the same letter colors at the end of “Little Pumpkin”.
I glued my buttons in place to go along with the pumpkin patch theme and distressed the edges of the lay out with the green tempura paint using a make up sponge.
I wrote a little bit of journalism along side of the overlay strip and that’s it!

Unconventional Scrapbooking
Thursday, November 4th, 2010
If you are stumped with scrapbooking, just know that your pages do not have to be the same. Scrapbooking is about capturing the moment, not the fad. It’s about putting those wandering one photo snap shots- the ones with out a date, theme or even a full memory, into your album. It’s about collecting your thoughts your dreams and hopeful imaginings. It’s unconventional scrapbooking. (more…)
Swim Lessons
Thursday, October 14th, 2010
We have a good friend who is a swim instructor as a side job apart from being a full time Mommy too. Dyllan and I did swim lessons with her when he was 2 and again this summer before school started. The lessons are one on one in a neighborhood pool and at this particular location I noticed scores and scores of yellow swallowtails flitting about! So I made a 2 page spread using all the photo’s from his week of lessons. (more…)

Reading with Grandma

Every now and then when I catch Dyllan and my Mom in a reading moment, I like to snap a few photo’s to “capture” that special memory. Here Dyllan is reading a Biscuit book. I love how in some of the photo’s you can see his mouth sounding out the words. (more…)

Adding Distressed Techniques to your pages
Friday, September 3rd, 2010
There are 3 ways to add distressed techniques to a page or any other craft.
- Tearing
- Sanding
- Inking
I am fond of all three ways and have been known to spend hours on a two page spread! I guess it’s because I love old and vintage items. I enjoy the way it adds character to a page, any page with little or no expertise. (more…)
