The fun thing about the Holidays is that anything goes in ways of gift giving or decorating. Especially if it was hand made by you! I like to personalize my treats I give out and nothing is easier than embellishing fun paper clips purchased from the office supply store! All you’ll need are some wacky clips, preferably large. Your three favorite craft punches for the season. The more solid the shape, the less trouble you’ll have when adhering to the clips. Adhesive- I used standard double stick tape, but glue works well too. Sort through your paper scrap stash, you can see mine here, and find papers that reflect the Season. Sort your paper clips, I used green’s, blue’s and the red’s. Saving the other wild colors for another project.
Use your punches on the papers, making sure to punch two per clip. I alternated the patterns front and back, that’s why I like using “squeeze” punches, because I can see where I want to punch! I even used pages from old text books and vintage music sheets. If you are low on paper scraps, you can always sort through magazines and holiday catalogs!
Add some adhesive to one punched paper, lay the clip on it, and then add the second punchy on top! If you are detailed minded, you can add additional fun like self stick rhinestones, glitter glue, or even doodle with a pen.
Personalize some of the clips with unused photo’s. Some of these were from a group shot where two out of three people in the photo were smiling or were in focus. I used a slightly smaller punch to make these clips. You can include these in a card, attach to a gift or decorate a small tree to make a Holiday “Family Tree!”
The little gingerbread men were fun to punch and can be further embellished with stickers, pens, glitter glue…even scented spray!
Use these clips to mark a page in a cook book, novel, attach a card, to a plate of cookies, table setting markers, a festive zipper pull, decorate a page layout, or add a magnet to one side and help organize items on the fridge!
Instead of punches, you can use, buttons, fabric , garland trim, fake flowers, mini toys, premade mini ornaments, love notes, stamped images, ….and the list goes on!
So what will you do with your Holiday clips?
